FAQ
What is Verus, in one line?
Best execution for perpetuals. You enter a position and Verus routes it to the venue with the lowest all-in cost across Hyperliquid, Lighter, and Orderly. See the Introduction.
Who is Verus for?
Verus v1 focuses on best execution, so it is built for people who care about getting the best price: active traders, institutions, and agentic strategies. It is not primarily a points or farming tool today. A broader suite for every kind of trader is planned.
What does Verus cost?
Verus charges zero fees in v1. Over time, Verus plans to build a fair model based on the savings it generates for traders. One possible example is a small percentage of your average savings. Nothing is charged today.
Is Verus custodial? Does it hold my funds?
No. Verus is non-custodial. Your funds live in an embedded account tied to your login, and Verus cannot move them to an address you did not authorize. See Security.
Do I choose the venue?
No. That is the point of Verus. You enter the position, and Verus models the full cost on each eligible venue and routes to the cheapest. See Best execution.
Do I need to deposit to each venue separately?
No. You fund one account. Verus moves only a trade’s collateral to the venue it routes to, and it returns when you close. See How Verus works.
What do I fund my account with?
Just Arbitrum USDC. Gas is paid in USDC through a paymaster (not sponsored, just paid in a different token), so you do not need to hold ETH. USDC can be sent from any wallet. See Deposits & withdrawals.
When I enter a dollar amount, is that my margin or my position size?
It is the position’s notional value, not the collateral. Verus converts USD to a token size at the current price, and leverage then determines how much collateral is locked. See Placing a trade.
What is the Savings tab?
After a trade closes, the Savings tab shows your realized savings: what you actually saved versus the alternative venues, based on the trade that really happened, not just the pre-trade estimate.
Do I need ETH for gas?
No. Verus uses the Circle Paymaster (with a Pimlico bundler, ERC-4337) so you pay gas in USDC instead of ETH. A few cents of USDC are deducted per on-chain action to cover the actual gas cost (capped at 1 USDC per operation, unused amount refunded). You only need Arbitrum USDC in your account.
Is Verus good for fast swing trading?
Verus v1 has some deposit latency because collateral is moved to a venue as part of routing, so it suits longer-term conviction positions more than rapid swing trading. Verus v2 is being designed to remove deposit latency.
What happens if my position is liquidated?
Positions use isolated margin, so a liquidation is capped at that position’s collateral. It cannot reach your other positions or your account balance.
Which venues does Verus support?
Hyperliquid, Lighter, and Orderly today, all order books. More are planned. See Venues.
How do I get my money out?
Close any open positions to return funds to your account, then withdraw to an external address. Withdrawals respect each venue’s minimum, and Verus warns you up front if your amount is too small.
