Copy trading
Copy trading lets you follow memecoin traders and have their trades mirrored into your own wallet automatically, usually within a few seconds of them happening.
It lives under the Memecoins tab in the app, alongside the perps product. The people you copy are called creators, and they come from Fomo , a social trading app with public leaderboards.
Solana only, for now. Copy trading currently mirrors Solana trades. Support for other chains is being built, and this documentation will change when it arrives.
What it does
- Copies within seconds. A creator’s trade is detected about a second after the block it landed in, and your order is built and sent immediately. Detection is the fast part; building, signing and landing a Solana transaction is the larger share of the total. See How it executes.
- Sizes trades your way. A fixed dollar amount, a percentage of your balance, or in proportion to the creator’s own size.
- Take-profit and stop-loss that run without you. Standing exit rules live on the Verus servers, so they keep working when your browser is closed. Up to six rules per position, laddered if you want.
- Refuses tokens built to trap you. Before buying, the token’s own on-chain configuration is checked for freeze authorities, permanent delegates, transfer hooks and transfer taxes.
- Explains every trade it did not make. A skipped trade is a recorded decision with a reason, not a gap. See Risk controls.
- Accounts honestly. One definition of profit and loss, with the platform fee and the Solana network fee both subtracted, and unknown costs labelled as unknown rather than treated as zero. See Fees and P&L.
Three things to know before you start
1. The copy wallet is custodial. Verus generates and holds its private key, so trades can be signed the moment a creator moves. There is no key export today. Fund it like a hot trading wallet, not like savings. The controls that bound it are set out in Security and custody.
2. It has running costs. Unlike the perps side of Verus, which charges nothing, copy trading carries a platform fee on each mirrored trade, and every trade also pays Solana’s own network costs. On small trades those network costs can be the larger of the two. Fees and P&L sets out all of it.
3. Nobody vets the creators. The board reproduces Fomo’s rankings. It is not a recommendation, the figures on it are Fomo’s rather than verified by Verus, and following someone is a standing instruction to spend your money the way they spend theirs. See Traders you can copy.

How it differs from the perps product
They are separate products under one login, and it is worth being clear about what does not carry across.
| Perps | Copy trading | |
|---|---|---|
| Chain | Arbitrum | Solana |
| Funded with | USDC | SOL |
| Wallet | Yours, key held by the wallet provider | Custodial, key held by Verus |
| Verus fee | None in v1 | A platform fee per mirrored trade |
| What you decide | The position; Verus picks the venue | Who to follow and how much to size; they pick the trade |
Balances are not shared between them, and money cannot be moved between the two inside the app.
