Copy trading FAQ
What is copy trading on Verus, in one line?
You follow memecoin creators from Fomo , and their Solana trades are mirrored into your own wallet automatically, usually within a few seconds. See the Overview.
Is my copy wallet non-custodial like the rest of Verus?
No. The copy wallet is custodial: Verus generates and holds its private key so trades can be signed the instant a creator moves, and there is no key export today. This is genuinely different from your perps account, whose key is held by the wallet provider and cannot be exported by Verus. Fund it like a hot trading wallet. The controls that bound it are set out in Security and custody.
What does it cost?
Verus charges a platform fee of up to 1% on each trade. On top of that you pay Solana’s own network costs, which on small trades can be the larger of the two. A trade that fails pays no platform fee. See Fees and P&L for the full breakdown.
Can I use my perps USDC for this?
No. Perps runs on Arbitrum and holds USDC. Copy trading runs on Solana and spends SOL. The balances are separate, and money cannot be moved between them in the app.
What do I fund the wallet with?
SOL, on Solana mainnet, only. Other tokens or other networks will not arrive. USDC that does reach the wallet is held safely but never traded; you can withdraw it explicitly.
How much SOL do I need?
1 SOL is a sensible starting amount. There is no enforced minimum, but copying is high-frequency: a creator can trade several times a day and you can follow ten of them, so a wallet funded for one or two buys empties almost at once.
A trade also costs more than its size: the amount spent plus slippage headroom, the platform fee, the network fee, roughly 0.004 SOL of recoverable token-account rent, and a 0.005 SOL reserve kept back so you can always afford to sell. At a $10 trade size and SOL around $100 that is about 0.12 SOL for a single buy. See Getting started.
Does Verus check the traders I can copy?
No. The board reproduces Fomo’s rankings, and the numbers on it are Fomo’s own, not audited by Verus. Creators found to be impersonating someone are removed, but that is reactive. See Traders you can copy.
Why did a trade not copy?
Every decision not to copy is recorded with a reason and shown in your activity feed, grouped by whether it was your settings, something needing your attention, a refusal on your behalf, or a fault on our side. The common ones are listed in Risk controls, and the app carries a plain sentence for every one.
One worth knowing in advance is Seen too late to copy. A buy more than 15 seconds behind the trade it copies is refused, because entering that late means paying for a move the creator already caused.
Do take-profit and stop-loss work when I close my laptop?
Yes. They run on the Verus servers, not in your browser. Up to six rules per position, each selling a share of it. A stop is a best effort rather than a guaranteed price: it fires on a mark from the pool your token would be sold into, and a violent move can take the price past your level before the sale lands.
What happens if I unfollow someone?
New trades from them stop being mirrored. Tokens you already hold stay in your copy wallet and you sell them whenever you choose. Their past trades stay in your activity history.
What does “Unresolved” mean next to a creator?
Fomo knows the creator, but Verus has not yet established which wallet they actually trade from, so there is nothing to watch. Binding a wallet needs on-chain evidence that is reviewed before it is accepted, so it can take a while and it may not happen at all. There is nothing for you to do, and copying starts by itself once a wallet is bound.
Can I copy any wallet address?
No. You can follow creators in the index, searched by handle. There is no way to paste an arbitrary wallet address.
How do I get my money out?
Withdraw sends SOL or USDC to any Solana address you type. It cannot be reversed, so check the address. Sell a position first if you want it back as SOL, and Redeem to recover the rent from token accounts you have fully sold out of.
Why does my profit and loss say a position has no value?
Because nothing can price it yet. A position with no live quote and no usable pool is left out of your totals entirely rather than counted as zero, so on that account your net is understated rather than guessed at. It appears as a dash, never a number. See Fees and P&L.
Is copy trading available on chains other than Solana?
Not yet. Only Solana trades are mirrored today.
I found a bug or a security issue. Where do I report it?
